Capacity Performance proposal filed with the FERC

PJM’s Capacity Performance proposal is currently with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for its review. The Capacity Performance proposal calls for changes to the Reliability Pricing Model capacity auction that will assure that generators perform when called on during system emergencies with no excuses.

The FERC approved PJM’s request for additional time to allow stakeholders sufficient time to review and comment on the proposal. The comment deadline is Jan. 20, 2015. If approved, PJM required that the changes go into effect on April 1, 2015.

Both the Section 205 (PDF) filing and Section 206 (PDF) filing were made earlier in December.
