Duane gives Congressional testimony on financial markets

Vince Duane, senior vice president – General Counsel, Compliance and External Relations, testified Wednesday on financial trading at the U. S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy.

In his testimony, “Examining the Role of Financial Trading in the Electricity Markets,” Duane discussed the benefits and drawbacks of financial trading in the wholesale electricity markets. That included recent PJM filings at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission that seek to preserve the value that financial trading can offer to PJM markets while minimizing situations where trading siphons off revenues with no corresponding system benefit.
