The PJM Board approved changes to the Regional Transmission Expansion Plan involving transmission upgrades totaling $474 million to address baseline reliability criteria violations. Also authorized were changes to previously approved projects, bringing the total net impact to more than $551 million. The Board approved these changes on February 18.
The approved transmission projects include line reconductorings, transformer replacements, capacitor installations and relay upgrades.
The board has approved a total of more than $26.2 billion in transmission additions and upgrades since the first RTEP in 2000.
