PJM Files Additional Load Forecast Material with the FERC

On July 27, PJM filed additional material with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission asserting that an updated load forecasting model which is still under development should not be included in the upcoming capacity auction. This was PJM’s second response to the FERC on the complaint that called for delaying the 2018-2019 base residual auction.

The filing supports PJM’s belief it is unreasonable to delay the auction.

In the filing, PJM stressed that the updated load forecasting model is not yet complete and PJM’s Tariff already protects consumers against results of over-procuring capacity in the base residual auction.
