PJM Responds to Member Feedback on Tools Security Changes

PJM is responding to feedback from members about changes announced in June to enhance the security of PJM tools. To address members’ concerns, the tools security team has made the following adjustments to tools security plans taking effect throughout 2015 and 2016:

  • Accounts will be disabled after six months of inactivity – instead of 90 days. This takes effect in the second quarter of 2016.
  • Login will be required after 60 minutes of inactivity by default – instead of after 30 minutes of inactivity.
  • Session timeouts will vary for different tools.
  • View the list of frequently asked questions.

Cybersecurity is important to PJM and it is dedicated to protecting member data and the security of members’ business transactions. PJM recognizes these changes to tools security affect users now – but the up-front work provides a better long-term solution, making it easier to do business with PJM.
