The National Utilities Diversity Council (NUDC) has appointed Lori Murphy Lee, Manager – Regulatory and Legislative Affairs, to its Board of Directors.
The NUDC is a non-profit organization that conducts research and develops best practices to promote diversity in the utilities and communications industries. It is made up of corporate leaders, regulators and regulatory staff members, suppliers and non-profit professionals committed to encouraging diversity in utilities, telecommunications and cable industries.
“I’m delighted and honored to be on the board of an organization that brings together the best and brightest in the utilities industry to further diversity initiatives and inclusion,” said Lee. “I hope to share the lessons learned and best practices I have gathered from PJM, as well as to foster additional initiatives at PJM using the tools and education this opportunity to serve will provide.”
Lee also serves on the recently-formed Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia Advisory Council on Utility Supplier and Workforce Diversity, which allows her to continue the diversity and inclusion efforts she started when she served on the DC Commission.
“Diversity is very important to me on many levels,” said Lee. “I often say – and strongly believe – that diversity in the workplace just makes good business sense. Especially in the energy sector, it is so important that we have people working on issues who reflect the people we serve.”
