Steve McElwee, PJM’s Chief Information Security Officer, has been awarded the 2023 E-ISAC Electricity Security Service Award in Honor of Michael J. Assante.
The GridSecCon is a cyber and physical security event co-hosted by North American Electric Reliability Corporation, the Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center (E-ISAC) and the Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NPCC). The award was presented Oct. 19 at GridSecCon 2023 in Quebec City, Canada.
The award recognizes individuals that have made significant contributions to support the security of the North American electricity industry. To be considered, individuals must demonstrate the following in service to the electricity industry:
- Dedication to finding solutions to industry security threats and challenges
- Broad information sharing for the betterment of the industry
- Partnership and collaboration within and outside the industry
- Support to the electricity industry and community
