The Operating Committee heard various updates at its meeting on Tuesday.
Scott Baker, senior business solution analyst – Applied Innovation, presented an update on the work of the Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Subcommittee.
That group is studying models for how DER, located behind a customer’s meter or able to directly serve retail load, could participate in the market in the event of a grid outage. Other issues include wholesale DER interconnection assessment and primary frequency response for resources with a wholesale market participation agreement.
Shaun Murphy, senior business solution engineer – Applied Solutions, updated the group on PJM’s plans to enhance its synchrophasor program. (See Exploring PJM: PJM’s syncrophasor program, Part 1 and Part 2.)
