PJM has created a new page on PJM.com that discusses various Grid Optimization Solutions, including Grid Enhancing Technologies (GETs) and Alternative Transmission Technologies (ATTs), designed to serve as a reference for the PJM region and electric industry.
The new page includes a series of technical reference guides for a subset of these grid solutions.
For PJM, Grid Optimization Solutions include any novel technology, such as GETs or ATTs, or other transmission innovations that can enhance grid operations. To aid in the understanding of GETs on the PJM system, PJM developed the reference guides to highlight background information and technical considerations for certain technologies.
The new page includes guides for the following technologies:
- Advanced Conductors
- Advanced Power Flow Controllers
- Dynamic Line Ratings
- Topology Control & Optimization
The technologies discussed on the page do not encompass all existing or future Grid Optimization Solutions, but highlight a few technologies where additional information may be valuable to PJM stakeholders and the electric industry as a whole.
