PJM has posted its response to the 2020 State of the Market report. The report outlines four key focus areas PJM views as priorities for its market design.
The report (PDF) is in response to recommendations made by Monitoring Analytics, PJM’s independent market monitor, in its State of the Market Report released in March.
PJM recognizes the comprehensive nature of the IMM’s report and appreciates the detailed information it entails on the performance of PJM markets in 2020.
PJM’s response, posted June 17, highlights these areas to help prioritize recommendations made by Monitoring Analytics. The focus areas are:
- Capacity Market Enhancements
- Price-Capping Provisions in the Energy and Reserve Markets
- Enhancements to the Auction Revenue Rights and Financial Transmission Rights Process
- Compliance With FERC Order 2222
The document provides background on these priorities, including where they stand within the stakeholder or regulatory process, along with PJM’s position on the topic or on a path forward, as well as the market monitor’s recommendations.
The report also indicates the status of all the recommendations contained in the 2020 State of the Market report.
Monitoring Analytics’ 2020 State of the Market Report is also available.
