PJM is closely tracking the path of Hurricane Dorian, which is expected to move northward along the Eastern Seaboard, particularly close to parts of the Dominion transmission zone in North Carolina and Virginia.
At this time, PJM does not expect to have any significant impacts to the transmission system from the storm. PJM is working closely with Dominion to return some transmission equipment that was out of service for maintenance and to configure the system to mitigate the potential for damage in the area that could be most impacted.
The storm is currently expected to accelerate as it moves north, passing the New Jersey coast on Friday and up into the Canadian Maritime provinces by the weekend. PJM is continuing to closely monitor the forecasted track of the storm and will adjust its operations as necessary.
